Branding and illustration for French streetwear company

Creating a streetwear brand isn’t an easy task at all. First, creating a fashion brand for the French market is a big challenge, regardless of the branch. Second, wearing a logo communicates your identity and the clan to which you belong because Gen Z appreciates brands that share their ideals. Almost all streetwear brands are considered “in”, thus wearing their clothing implies that you have your finger on the pulse. Third, streetwear brands are also being creative with their spaces and using the power of digital to drive their audience to locations. Fourth, the task was not just to design a prominent brand identity, but also a fable with illustration, and strategy for this promising streetwear brand.

We encounter the wyvern as a mascot of schools and sports teams, as well as in mythology and folklore, and it plays a significant part in heraldry. But nowadays, this creature is frequently depicted in fiction, video games, street art, and movies. Therefore, we needed the Wyvern brand to have a strong visual identity and be able to compete in this saturated market. The aim was to create a brand that is strong, youthful, vibrant and has character. The concept behind this was to create a brand that is unique, easy to read and memorable. Integrating the symbol within the typeface is often hard work, but not impossible. We’re lucky to use the letter Y and transform it into a look-like wyvern and at the same time using this symbol separately.
